Antisnews homepage blank out

  • Alright, so I am using the antisnews theme (with the newest update) and the home page has gone completely blank except for the header and the navigation bar.

    Each individual page works fine, the posts show up and all that good stuff. Essentially, every single page is working just fine except for the homepage.

    This problem seems to have occurred before, but the solutions I’ve searched up haven’t worked.

    So far, the solutions that have failed have been:
    Switching to the default theme and back
    Resetting the theme to the default settings
    Deactivating all the plugins
    Editing the cropper.php file (unless I’ve done it wrong)

    Moving to magazine off/tutorial mode works fine, but live mode doesn’t work at all.

    Help would be much appreciated, as we’re trying to launch our school newspaper’s website ASAP.

    I just checked the current source code on the front page. Only the featured slider is even showing up in the source code, and even that is hidden on the page itself.

    Alright, I remade one of my posts, and the home page has come back, but only to some extent. Instead of blanking out every time, it blanks out 1/3 times or so, so it takes multiple refreshes to get the page to work…

    Is this due to the same problem?

    I came across this when the same thing just happened to me. I think it has something to do with posting a post into a new topic. For some reason my sub categories were showing up as divorced from their parent categories.

    I had an article (A) already in the featured section (category 1) and when I posted a new article (B) the featured article didn’t change (to B). I tried to edit the date of the first article (A) and then it all went blank but everything else was working within the pages.

    I trashed the articles (A and B) after remotely saving the html codes for them both and then stared afresh with A (site worked) and then B (site worked) and this time it was all as it should be.

    I can’t work out why it did it like that but it seems to be ok now!

    I’ve been having this problem as well. What I have noticed is periodically when you hit the homepage, it will not load completely, but will do so if you reload the browser.

    I thought it was limited to the homepage as well, but I was alerted to the fact that some pages and post pages are only loading part of the sidebars periodically. I have confirmed what was reported to me. The same thing is true as with the front page; if you hit “reload” on the browser, the page / post loads completely.

    I contacted the developer on this issue on October 26 and was told that they were going to be releasing an update of the theme in a few days time and that most current issues were related to the fact that Antisnews is not quite compatible with the new version of WordPress yet.

    There seems to be a conflict with Antisnews and some plug-ins. For me the Fixed Admin Menus and SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam plug-ins were the culprits;0 when they are disabled, the site works fine.

    Another point is that this may only happen to logged in admins; if I log out (with the offending plug-ins active) and go to my site, it works fine; so it is probably not happening to site visitors.
