Site Ground have sent me this email in response to my concerns as to why the Memcache was not working:

the website was still not being cached dynamically and that is due to the “cleantalk-spam-protect” plugin as it continued to add no-cache headers. As soon as I deactivated the plugin, the Dynamic Cache started working as expected as per the following CURL test

    They then said:

And if you wish to keep on using the CleanTalk plugin, then you should discuss this further with their support team on how exactly to remove the headers added by the plugin which currently affect the functionalities of the dynamic cache.

As this plugin has been Deactivated to attain the Memcache feature for several hours, I would appreciate your earliest advice about this, as I am concerned about my website’s security without this plugin being Activated.

    Thanks Alan

You can also try changing one option: WordPress Admin Page —> Settings —> Anti-Spam by CleanTalk —> Advanced settings —> set the option “Uniq GET option” to “On” —> Save Changes.

    And recheck this issue.

If it didn’t help, you can simply disable the SpamFireWall feature entirely as it’s an additional feature, the main part of the anti-spam protection will still work.

Please let us know about the results.

    Hi Dimitry,

I implemented the changes you recommended. There was no change except the G Optimiser Memcache now produces an ERROR (saying, The URL is not cached).

It seems I am unable to get rid of this ERROR flag.

I then placed the plugin into Troubleshoot Mode with only the Optimiser Activated, and still it produces the ERROR flag after the Cache has been purged.

There seems to be a systemic problem here. Once Cleantalk’s Antispam plugin was activated, it seems it sent this command into the header, which said cache-controlno-cache, must-revalidate, max-age=0 as detected on GTmetrix.

I need some real assistance here Dimitry. My website performance is getting worse all the time.

    GTmetrix
    Grade?Performance?74%
    Structure?98%
    Web Vitals?
    LCP?2.2s
    TBT?0ms

    Largest Contentful Paint?2.2s

    Time to First Byte (TTFB)?1.9s
    Backend Duration?836ms

Anything you can help me with – especially getting the Memcache working again would be most appreciated.

    Regards,

    Alan
