anti-spam plug-in recommendations?

  • Any plug-in recommendations for anti-spam protection? Askimet requires payment if you’re a small biz, as I am. My latest site (for a client) is getting flooded with comment spam from one particular source. I’ve marked it as spam, yet it’s still coming. I see I have a few choices with 5 stars to choose from… any favourites?

    Social spam stinks. On the up side, if the spam has markedly increased, then it sounds like your client’s site is growing. On the down side, if comment spam is hurting your client’s business, then free plug-ins may not be enough to effectively stop the pain.

    Beyond cost, as you evaluate solutions consider whether the options include URL link and context analysis and fingerprinting. These two features are tactical approaches that can prove effective.
