Anti Spam on Petition Plugin

  • Hi Guys,
    I am using the Freecharity.org.uk Petition plugin which works fantasticly well and currently has nearly 800 signatures on it (https://donnasdream.co.uk/sign-the-petition)

    The only issue im having is that im getting alot of spammers trying to add links etc on it, which is really annoying as everyday im having to clear atleast 10 of them manually. They dont show up on the website as it requires they click a link in an email that is sent to them but it does get annoying when i have to clear them manually from the back-end.

    Would anyone know of a little bit of code i can add to the plugins php file to stop them, even if it is just a simple maths question? they are obviously automated spammers as they are mainly gobbledegook!

    p.s. i emailed the developer quite some time ago, and again recently and no reply..it looks like hes abandoned the plugin.
