Hello, in the Settings tab under General there is an option called “Enable anti-spam honeypot”.

If this option is enabled, is there any thing else I have to do to use the Honeypot protection? Like adding an “Hidden field” or something?

Or does the Honeypot protection just works when I enable it?

    Thank you,
    Alwin

    Nobody?? ??

    Hi Alwin,

I apologize if you felt there was any delay. We had a holiday on Monday (MLK Jr Day) and have been working hard to get caught up ??

You’re correct that the honeypot field will “just work”. You won’t see it in the embedded form at all, unless you dig into the code. This is because a honeypot field isn’t meant to be visible to regular users — instead, only bots should see it. Then when a bot fills out this field, that’s how we know they’re not human.

That being said, it’s still a good idea in most cases to add another layer of spam protection to your forms. Our Lite version includes integration with Google’s reCAPTCHA, which is a super powerful way to prevent spam (and you won’t need to touch any code to set it up). This can be used along with our honeypot.

For more details on how to set up reCAPTCHA in your forms, here’s our tutorial.

    Hope that helps! ??
