• Hi,

    Does it impact custom CSS on the SEO and performance of the website?

    Is it the default version of the free GeneratePress theme is a child theme? if not, where can I find that in order to avoid losing any custom changes in theme upon theme update?

    Regards,

    Hi there,

    I’m not too sure what you mean about custom CSS? Your own custom CSS on the site?

    The theme itself uses as little CSS it can to improve performance.

    You can download a blank child theme here: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-child-theme/

    Let me know if you need more info ??

    I meant to ask that;

    Is there any impact of CSS on SEO added to hide/remove different theme functions such as making header sticky through the following code

    .site-header {
    position: sticky;
    top: 0;
    }

    etc.

    I am currently using the free version of Generatepress theme, I made few changes in the theme using the CSS properties like I give the example above. Upon theme updates, will I lose those changes made in the theme?

    Does any update by the author automatically apply to all Generatepress based websites?
