    Hi,
This is a handy plugin for group management. Beside the ability to assign each WP role to a group, I wonder if there are other options to assign groups.

It would be nice if I can select multiple users in the admin at once and then assign a group to them. This is useful specially if you have hundreds of users with different roles and want to have an efficient way to assign many of them to a group at once.

    Thank you.
    Steven

you can assign multiple users to a group using

    dashboard>settings>bbp private groups>user management

Thanks for the quick response. The User Management screen is exactly what I was looking for not knowing that it was hidden somewhere.

So after I have filtered the user profiles to assign a group when I hit the select all check box, it doesn’t seem to do as supposed to – no items being checked except the all check box itself being checked. This is the essential function to allow multiple selections quickly on a long list.

    Thank you.

I’ve just released version 3.6.8 which has a ‘checkall | uncheckall’ in User management

Please confirm that this does what you want !!

Thanks for working on this, Robin.
Yes, the select all text link does the job, exactly what I was looking for.

Just now I notice another funny thing if you don’t mind looking into. On this same screen, the select role dropdown menu filter function doesn’t seem to work. When I select some of the roles, nothing shows up in the list. Group select filter function works.

Would appreciate if you can look into the filter function as well. Thank you.

filter function works fine on my test site

    when you say

‘When I select some of the roles, nothing shows up in the list.’

do you mean some work and some don’t ? if so can I have a list of which do and which don’t?

Robin, to your question, I initially selected the few roles I wanted to work on and found out that it didn’t work. To investigate further, none of the roles I apply the filter for works. Also I notice after hitting the Filter button and screen refresh, the filter selection goes back to default state while showing no results. You can have look at the screen shot I have.

I don’t know what to suggest further, it could be a theme or plugin issue issue, so you’ll need to test to find out which

    Plugins

Deactivate all but bbpress and see if this fixes. if it does, re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.

    Themes

If plugins don’t pinpoint the problem, as a test switch to a default theme such as twentyfifteen, and see if this fixes.

    Then come back

    Thanks for the quick reply.

If you can’t reproduce the problem on your end, it’s likely to be plugin conflict issues. It’s a time consuming drill to go through the elimination process. Will get back to you once I found something.
