• Hello, I wanted to block this plugin from loading the Google tag script when a user consent is obtained.

I’m using GDPR Cookie Consent and it has a non-necessary-cookies box for custom code. This box only loads when the user gives consent.

So, on the Google Tag Manager for WordPress options I selected “custom” option for placing the code inside the GDPR Cookie Consent non-necessary-cookies box.

But for some reason, this is loading even if the user consents or not. It loads anyways.

I’m doing something wrong? If I use this strategy with the script provided with google tag manager, it works as it should, the plugin GDPR Cookie Consent blocks the script until user consent.

The only difference I see, is when placing the code inside the non-necessary-cookies box the script taken from google directly is JS code and the one provided by your plugin is PHP.

Further information: If I select “custom placement”, and I don’t place it anywhere on my template, the plugin is still loading all the GTAG manager script and variables. This is the expected workflow?

    Thank you.
