[So I don’t forget, please note that I am using Virtue full theme.] You asked for information about possible conflicts with your plugin. I found that using a simple gallery/shortcode setup like the below:

    [gallery link="file" masonry="false" caption="true" size="medium" ids="974,973"]

would fail when EML was activated. By “fail,” I mean that (a) the captions appeared below the thumbnail, rather than appearing upon a rollover, which was the behavior before I observed this conflict, and (b) clicking on a thumbnail would bring up a full-size version of the image with no problems, but there would not be an left or right arrows to proceed through a slideshow.

Simply de-activating EML fixed it out the gate, but then I saw your FAQ info and simply threw the “Turn off enhanced gallery” switch, which fixed the problem without having to de-activate EML.

I hope this info is useful. For now everything is working OK on my site, but I understand why you would want to fix this.

    Thanks!

    Hello @markmacallister,

Thank you for informing us about the issue, and sorry for delay with the response. We need more time to test it with Virtue theme (we use free version). Meanwhile please try to update the plugin to v2.1.4 It has significant gallery code improvements. You issue may appear to be fixed.

    Best,
    -Nadia

    Hello @markmacallister,

Please let me know what exactly is the name of the plugin you use for gallery shortcode (except EML, of course).

    Hello Nadia:

Just upgraded to 2.1.5 and everything worked fine out of the box.

As an aside, I’m not using any plugin to run galleries–I am simply using the “stock” gallery builder built into WP, so my shortcodes look like this:

    [gallery link="file" masonry="false" caption="true" size="medium" ids="974,973"]

    Thanks.

    Mark
