• Well, I continued my wordpress attempts after my original, which many of you may have seen. Here’s my new attempt, for my personal blog:
    https://www.publichealthcenter.com/blogs/clay/
It uses StatTraq, Photo Matt’s random image script (for the banner photo at the top), and Alex King’s photo posting plugin. Overall, it took a lot less time and was more fun to put together than my original attempt. Also, it’s XHTML and CSS compliant: whew!
I love to tweak things, so I’m sure that it will be ever evolving.
Here’s my original (non-personal) public health related WP-powered site:

  • clay,
I had a peek at your personal site. Very nice! I might suggest some further optimization of the images, as the page is a bit weighty, and even on broadband, it took a while for the images to load. That said, it’s a wonderful site.

Yeah, I thought about that. It probably won’t be as image heavy as it currently is, but I do want to optimize the banner images. Generally speaking, what’s the best way to go about this? What are the best file formats and compression ratios, etc…?
