• I’ve been having an internal server error for a few days. I have a blog at arikatt.com/joez. It’s run on a friend’s domain, so I don’t have access to the backend other than the WP dashboard. Well, I haven’t really been doing anything with the blog for a few months, and when I went to look at it a few days ago it started giving me problems.

I CAN view the site normally with no problems.
I CAN log in to the site (I see the bar on top of the blog).

Up until a day or so ago I could go into the WP dashboard but clicking going into anything (posts, plugins, etc.) cause a “500 Internal Server Error.”

My “webmaster” (i.e. my friend who owns the domain) was able to see all the files in the backend, but since then I can login and see the blog, but if I attempt to enter the dashboard I get:

    blockquote Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log. blockquote

I’ve read a lot of posts about this on the forum, but none of them seem to have the same circumstances as I do. Can anyone help?

  • Hi…

    Weird.

The site is rendering fine for me.

And, I can get to the wp-admin log-in screen.

Maybe you should clear the cache on your browser or try a different browser to get to the site?

It should be related to some functions that runs after you login (as TychoMonolith can access the wp-admin screen), to check where the problem is, you can change the php setting:

display_errors from off to on, and access your website again, the error will show up, the you can resolve the problem according to the error.

    Hope this help. ??
