Inserted the Google Analytics script into the plugin to prevent it from running until consent. However this prevent all statistics, and GDPR only adresses personal information.

So basically it is still allowed to collect statistics without any consent, as long as it is anonymized.

How do other solve this, as blocking Google Analytics totally before is not really best practice?

  • Hi @kmorgen

The plugin is giving an option to the site owners to render their scripts ( that are collecting informations – not only Google Analytics ) as per the user consent. So it’s entirely upto the site owner to render the scripts accordingly.

It would be great if at “Non-necessary cookie” option page we had two more fields, to write code to load BEFORE consent (head and body). Then anonymized analytics could be in this new field and normal Analitycs could be at current field. Same for Adsense, etc.
    Great plugin anyway.
