• When I write a page or post, I don’t put a line break code (br), but the lines break automatically and I find this very annoying. What do I do so that lines would not automatically break whenI press ‘enter key’?

Please help me, my site’s contents are messed up because of this.

Why do you expect something else when you press the Enter? It always results in a line break – even here where I write this? What else would you expect?
(or give an example where this “annoying” behaviour of the Enter key doesn’t exist…)

BTW, don’t bump after 1 hour – it is considered very rude (should I say: annoying?) manner…

    I am having a similair problem…

When someone posts a message with endless jibberish this wil be presented as one long sentence. This also happens when I write a new article.

Must I press the enter-key when writing a message or post?

When I look at the source of this page I see that posts and all other writings are put within a P tag…But this paragraph is causing a horizontal scroll and ruining the looks, why?!

    I am getting desperate…
    Only short text/sentences it is?!

Okay, sorry about that word, didn’t intend any offense. In normal websites, lines would not break unless you put a line break code, that’s why I could not ‘expect’ it to break lines. I’m here to get help from people, not to get myself picked a fight with by a moderator who is supposed to be helping out, ok? …Anyone know about a way to prevent this?

It’s wordpress default behaviour to put a <br /> in every time where you press enter once. If you press it twice, it generates a new paragraph using <p>. To stop it, I guess you would have to look in the source code itself.

May I ask why this is a problem? When I’m writing HTML I put line breaks in all the time, obviously, otherwise everything would end up on the same line, but when you’re writing a post, WP takes care of all the line breaks and stuff for you, I find it frees me to write rather than worry about the HTML.

On the side, regarding etiquette on the WP forums, I think moshu was just offering some advice on how best to get an answer. People who offer help do so completely voluntarily, and if they think someone is being rude, they generally won’t offer help.

Oh, so it’s a default behaviour. Well, Moshu saying that I’ve been rude is enough, but insulting me is something that’s gone too far, still I admit my words have been rude. sorry. and thanks, Maerk.

That’s ok, misunderstandings are extremely common on the internet, it’s easy to read anger into things peope have written when really there was none to begin with, it’s what emoticons are for ??

Are you familiar with PHP at all? Because it probably wouldn’t be too hard to fix. I can’t make any promises though ??
