Post is being fetched as a comment. You may need to exclude original post from being fetched, as it shows up on the fetched comments as a comment.

If you know what caused the iframe looking thing, I’d love to be able to stop that or prevent it by catching that error. Let me know ??

I meant to remove the first post, but I left it in during testing to verify that it could connect and fetch posts from the forum.

The crash was because of my permalink settings: .html

/%year%-%category%/%postname%.html

When this happens you have to uninstall the plugin for it to work again.

You might want to remove the link altogether or change it to:

Join the conversation.

In addition, you can parse the link to the username on the comment.

The crash was because I had uploaded the plugin files to /plugins as as to the right folder under /plugins which caused the database to have two instances of the plugin.

Could you please explain this part again? I don’t understand.

Some future version will have the text “Follow the discussion” or “Join the conversation” editable in the plugin admin page. At some point there will also be a template, so you can change much of it around however you’d like.

Actually that wasn’t the issue really.
The real problem with my permalink settings: .html

/%year%-%category%/%postname%.html

your script does not accept .html extensions. It should be noted on the instructions that /%year%/%category%/%postname are preferred.

I’m not sure why it would matter, but I’ll test it myself. I’m not guessing what the permalinks are. I’m using get_permalink() from WP and buildSEOUrl from IPB to get the links.

ok, one time is actually work. since i activated it yesterday only one post is posted on forum.

any thoughts ? encoding problems ? i have custom permalinks on wp ?

Update your version to the latest (1.2.6 as of this reply). There were a few issues that needed fixed.

After that, please test by making a new post in WordPress. After that, make a new reply on your IP.Board. Wait about 5 minutes and see if the reply shows up in WordPress.

in last couple hours i published more than 15 posts, only one published on IPB.

why i have to wait 5 minutes ? i have installed WP SUPER CACHE plugin ?

You may have to wait 5 minutes for the IPB replies to show up in your WordPress comments. You don’t have to wait 5 minutes for the forum to receive the new posts, so that’s something different.

Are you choosing a category when you make a post? It should be one of those that you mapped in IPB Comment Settings.

Just in case, maybe turn cache off while you are testing.

I have been updating the “Todo” list on the “Other Notes” section of the plugin page, so that you know what I plan on working on as I can.

What do you mean by direct commenting?

i try disabling wp super cache, nothing, still not opening topic on IPB after i create post in wordpress.

Please verify that the settings are correct in Settings / IPB Comments.

Base Url
It should be the main url to your forum

Base Path
It should be the path to the folder that contains initdata.php

Member ID
It should be a member with permission to post on your forum, and in the categories you choose under category settings.

Categories
Make sure the categories are mapped to an IPB forum category number.

Save these settings again just in case.

If any of this helps and you are able to figure out what happened, please let us know in case it helps someone else.

Another user made a good point about the IPB side of things. Make sure the forum you’ll be posting in has HTML enabled, and that your Member ID has permissions (group) to post HTML in that forum.

I will add as much of this as I can to the Installation Instructions.
