  • Monkeynotes already said it, but its worth repeating if you’re having the same problems that I’m seeing: WP-ContactForm does not work when Markdown is active.

I get a 404 error when attempting to view my “contact form” page. All looks well when viewing it on the “manage page” screen. I tested it out on existing pages and the form appears fine. But when creating a new page, I get a 404.

    Any suggestions?

    adb,
Does your newly-created page include The Loop? If not, then that is why you are getting the 404. I can attest to this myself, as I learned that the hard way recently. (Thanks, Ryan Duff, for all the help!)

The excluded Loop was the problem. Thanks!

Does anyone know what causes the form to jump way down to the bottom of the page? Does it look for a certain <div> id? Should it be in a certain div id?

I discovered I could change the inline styles and get rid of clear: both; in “.contactleft”, but when I do that, I also have to remove the <div style=”clear: both”> at the bottom of the form…which I can do…but, that doesn’t make it very plug-n-play…

    Am I confusing anyone yet?

I am simply beside myself with glee. This is one great little plugin. Thanks, Ryan!

Now, can someone suggest a way for me to not be beside myself any more and re-integrate? < shudder >

I’m having the same problem. What is “The Loop” you are referring to?

Is it possible to include a visitor specified subject field to append the end of the admin’s preferred subject line?

For example, if I have the plugin configured with a subject of “[philpeeps.com] – contact form” there could be a subject field that the visitor enters to make the subject line read “[philpeeps.com] – contact form: Cool Site!”

The reason this would be helpful is that gmail groups emails with common subject lines as threads, so emails with the same subject line generated by this plugin, get grouped with unrelated threads of emails from other visitors.

I second Philpeeps request. I prefer to view emails as threads, which of course is based on the subject of the email. Any chance of that?

You can look forward to user subject lines in a soon to come version

    awesome! Thanks!

I think this plugin is awesome, but I’m having trouble getting it to work. Here’s the scenario:

I have a site that has two domain names. the first name is the primary, the second name is a domain pointer I think. Anyway, I have my blog on the second name, but I’m supposed to use the mail server from the first domain to process mail. My question is: where does the contact form get the mail server info and would having a setup like mine conflict with the script?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

The mailserver comes from php. It just uses the built in php mail function. It might be a conflict with your server and you’d need to speak to your host about it.
