• Hi,

I’m using Magazine Basic in a BuddyPress 1.7 installation over WordPress 3.5.1 multisite.

The only thing (so far) I’ve noticed not working is the “loading animation” that used to pop up every time I clicked on “All users” or “My groups” tabs in activity page.

The activity actually changes, and shows either all users and my groups activity correctly, the only thing is that the animation showing that “something is going on” worked on BuddyPress basic theme, and not in Magazine Basic theme.

It’s not big deal for me, but it is for my users, because the change between one or another kind of activity listing takes (sometimes) some seconds, and they might think it’s not working, if there is no animation.

    Any ideas?

I’m not too sure what you are referring to. I just tested BuddyPress out on TwentyTwelve and I don’t see that loading animation. What theme do you see it in?

    So far I’ve tried with:

    • BuddyPress Default (the theme with which BuddyPress comes)
    • BuddyPress Colours
    • Magazine Basic
    • Frisco for BuddyPress
    • Custom Community
    • And some others.
The loading animation works fine using BuddyPress Default, and BuddyPres Colours (which is a child theme derived from BuddyPress Default). But It doesn’t with the others, including the one I want to use, Magazine Basic.

Digging up a little I’ve found that the themes where it works have some CSS with a file named ajax-loader.gif (I found the file and viewed its content and it’s the very same animation I’d like to see in my site). This gif is toggled on or off with some java script inside BuddyPress default theme.

But, neither the script nor the ajax-loader.gif exists or is required in the other themes folders, so, I guess if I want the animation, I’ll have to code and add it by myself in the themes I’d like to use, or look up if exists some plugin for that (I doubt it). To sum up, It’s not a bug, but something the creators of the themes didn’t implement.

But if anyone has done it and wants to share… I’d be grateful ??
