Animation does not work in some browsers

… and “Internet Explorer 10” does not display anything at all (white emptiness).

Please update your plugin to v 1.5

About distance between icons, there is no issue with plugin. It must be in theme.
You can resolve this issue by putting these css lines in custom style.

.awesome_social_icons_links {
  padding: 2px;
}
