The new Stripe plugin Version 5.6.1 animates supported credit card icons instead of displaying multiple icons at once – this new version breaks our site checkout page and messes up the PayPal checkout.

    1) The checkout page payment elements are all forced to standardize to the right after installing the plugin (it also forces the PayPal icon to be pushed to the right after installing the plugin) The animation messes around with the site css on checkout

    2) The animation decreases conversions as customers only think that there is one type of card accepted (most don’t wait for the animation to change after 5 seconds for each supported card type)

Please could you let me know how to change the icons back to the static version?

    Thanks

Hey @mrkawaii, thanks for reporting the issue.

We should have a patch release by the end of the day today, or early tomorrow with a static credit card icon instead of the supported cards rotation.

If you’d like a way around this sooner, you can also rollback to version 5.5.0 by downloading it from GitHub: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/releases/download/5.5.0/woocommerce-gateway-stripe.zip.

    Cheers

    Hey @ricardoa8c

Thanks for the update. May I suggest allowing us to choose which static icons to display (i.e, allow Mastercard, Visa icons and hide the ones that we don’t use). In this way, it will really benefit users like us who need to show customers what cards are accepted at the get-go, rather than a one-size-fits all approach.

I understand that you are trying to use a one-size-fits-all static credit card icon, but may I strongly recommend allowing us to choose which static card icons to be displayed. We are currently using CSS to hide the card icons that are not accepted at the moment.

    Thank you

    Hi @mrkawaii ??

Thanks for your feedback. I have added this to our ideas board.

Please feel free to upvote that idea so that our developers can consider implementing it in a future update to WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway.

In the meantime, Custom CSS would be the best option to solve this.

I hope that this helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to create a new thread ??
