    Sorry, me again!

I’m on another phone now (Android 8.0, Chrome v70.0.3538.80) and I’m not seeing the “Add to Homescreen” prompt I was expecting to see, per this screenshot

    Any ideas?

  • Hi again,

That’s an old A2HS banner which was shown for older Chrome Browser. As from Chrome for Android 68+, Chrome changed it into mini-infobar.

We haven’t updated it over our website’s homepage yet ?? Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

    Hope it helps.

    Sorry – I don’t think I was clear ??

I’m not seeing the “Add To Homescreen” bit at the bottom of the screen – if I load my site on Android I just get my site as per usual – no prompt to add to home ??

Good day to you. Got the issues:

Upon the website, I noticed that you’ve added a manifest earlier either manually or using any plugin. Over a website, only one manifest will get supported and currently, the manifest which you added earlier is what handled by browsers. You can find <link rel="manifest" href="https://willstocks.co.uk/site.webmanifest"> within your source code. Can you please remove the same and test it again?

If that didn’t help, please do change the images 192*192px and 512*512px (upon our SuperPWA settings page) loading from CDN to root URL.

Hope it will help you. Looking forward.

Aha! Good catch sir!!! I had forgotten about that, as that was part of “favicon-ing” my site ??

Out of curiosity – do you know what the plans are for iOS/Safari to support splash screens? Other than via: https://medium.com/@applification/progressive-web-app-splash-screens-80340b45d210 / https://gist.github.com/DaveHudson/fc47c0e04aec69f5fa83fa01ae0b9810#file-apple-touch-startup-image-html ?

    Hi Will,

Glad to hear that. Happy to see that your website scores 100/100 for PWA on Lighthouse test. Congratulations ????

Yes, the splash screen for iOS is within our roadmap.

Yes, very happy!! I tested yesterday too and it’s so nice to be able to view offline!! ?? ??

Ahhh, that’s brilliant news – do you “publicize” your roadmap at all (GitHub Milestones? Site Page similar to: https://premium.wpmudev.org/roadmap/?) or is it a secret roadmap? ??

    Awesome ??
At this time we didn’t have any public roadmap, but I can confirm that some cool features are planned for the coming releases.

    Very exciting!! ??

I will wait patiently then ??

With supporting iOS splash screens, will there also be “notch” support for the all-too-common top notch?

Frankly, I didn’t have any iOS devices to test splash screen feature for notch supported devices. I always test the user’s PWA over my friend’s iPhones, due to that it will take some time to test the feature over notch and know how the splash screen works on iOS devices.

Hope you’ll support our plugin by sharing with friends. ??
