• Hi all,

Any fixes for this issue in version 3.

When we toggle between visual and html in the editor the <p> and
    tags are still removed.

    HELP!!!!!!

    Thanks
    Dave

    to star with, try:

-deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to narrow down and possibly fix the problem . If the problem goes away, activate them individually to find the culprit?

    Default install, no plugins.

Seem to be a big problem with WorPress.

if you are inserting your own tags in the html editor, you really can’t switch back to visual. There has always been an issue with that. Unfortunately for now, if you use the html editor, you have to stick with it.

Or try one of the advanced editor plugins availabale. I haven’t used them so I’m not sure if they help

Seem to be a big problem with WorPress.

I manually updated my personal blog yesterday to 3.0.2, no issue whatsoever!

    Back to your issue, try:

-switching to the default theme (“twentyten”) for a moment by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes. The idea is to force WordPress to fall back to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific issue?

    Thanks t-p

I also update yesterday on a defualt site, default theme default everything. Just good old WordPress, nothing else.

When I edit a page in hmtl add <p> then switch to visual and back to html it removes the <p> tag.

TinyMCE doesn’t do this on other sites I’ve used (not WP sites). So the bug is within WP which everyone is aware of. I was just seeing if it had been fixed in V3.0

Please also review Rev. Voodoo’s post above.

    Yep I’ve reviewed his post.

“you really can’t switch back to visual” that’s not practical.

We all switch between view to see what’s being coded.

Even if I don’t switch between views and add 100 line breaks between paragraphs WordPress decide to remove those paragraph tags and make only 1, go figure…….

I’ll use the advanced editor until the bug is fixed.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. This should be on the “known issues” list, save people posting again and again.
