h1,h2 and h3 making things not show up or not show up correctly?

I’m having an extremely strange problem. I’m using the pixel theme. This happened right after I turned on permalinks.

Now, anything with an <h1> or <h2> or <h3> tag will either not show up or will not display in the correct font color. I’ve tried replacing the stylesheet with the original, I’ve tried uploading all the original files, I’ve tried changing every font color in the stylesheet to white and yet the text headlines still show up as black or dark gray. Even worse, in Chrome they look extremely small.
