• A combination of WordPress 5.6 and OceanWP 2.0 has stopped menu links to anchors on the same page working, when using the medium type OceanWP header. I have found a workaround for this on my site by creating a custom header. Therefore I have set up a temporary site (michaelp141.sg-host.com) to demonstrate the problem. The menu links to anchors work from the sample page, but not from the home page. This used to work before WordPress 5.6 update.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,

Please try to update the theme to the latest version 2.0.2 and also update the ocean extra plugin to the latest version and check.

If not resolved by the above, go to Elementor > System Info and share the report with us so that we can take a look.

    Hello,

It seems the plugin conflict issue. Try to disable all the nonocean plugin and check if it is working or not. If yes, enable the one by one plugin, and refresh the page after enabling each plugin, to check the conflict issue.

I have tried deactivating all plugins except ocean extra and it makes no difference to the fault. By the way, on my live site, I have worked around the issue by using a custom header. I have just set up this site to illustrate the problem to let oceanwp developers see it.

I have just run an experiment. I set up a temporary site with WordPress 5.5.3 and OceanWP 2.0.2, set up a medium-tye header – menu items linked to anchors work fine. I then upgraded to WordPress 5.6 and the menu items stopped working. I think that’s pretty conclusive that there is an issue with OceanWP on WordPress 5.6.

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing the details and Anchor tags not working in chrome when using #.
tried with another URL and it’s working fine.

For the testing, please try to switch to the default theme like twentytwenty and check if it is working with that or not.

Other themes are fine. Furthermore, it’s only the menu items related to the medium-type header in OceanWP that’s not working. Any browser – not just Chrome.

    Hello,

In that case, I have passed the issue to the concerned dev team to look into it.
I don’t understand why it is not working with this header type.
    Thank you for reporting it.
