I’ve been attempting to add a TOC above an FAQ list (using the Essential Accordion) which will anchor link down to the appropriate FAQ. In the editor for this page, I’ve added HTML Anchors to the associated Accordion Items (which, upon adding, can be seen in the editor’s List View of page/block elements). After saving the editor page, the Accordion Items no longer have the HTML Anchors associated.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello @originally216,

I hope you are doing well.

I have checked your query. Actually, the Table of Contents only works for heading titles, it won’t work for FAQs. Also, It was not the purpose of this block to work with FAQs. I hope you understand.

Have a good day. Thank you!

@onlykawshar Thank you for the reply. I think you may have mis-interpreted the initial message. Regardless of my building a TOC for the page, the HTML Anchors I applied to the associated Accordion Items (in the Advanced setting of the Block) are not saving. I discovered this was happening through the process of adding a TOC. Side note: As long as the Toggle/Title of an Accordion is using a heading tag for the markup, the TOC Block will add the item.

    Hello @originally216,

I hope you are doing well.

I appreciate your last reply. But unfortunately, I couldn’t check the website by the URL you have shared. It required a password. I request you disable this. So that I can check the way you made this TOC with Accordions.

    Thank you

    Hello @originally216,

Greetings. Hope you are doing well.

I haven’t heard from you since then. Actually, the webpage URL that you shared is required a password to check the website contents. So, I was wondering if your issue has been resolved or not.

Please let us know. I wish you a good day.

    Thank you

@onlykawshar I missed this reply, sorry. I am still unable to add/save anchors to the individual accordions (to allow me to make a TOC above and link down to them). Here is a temporary login: demo/OuterBox@2022

    Hello @originally216,

Thanks for replying back to me. Previously you shared a webpage URL where you used this element. But It requires a password when I try to open it. Can you please remove the password there? It will help to understand the issue more closely and help you out.

    Thank you|!

@onlykawshar Hello! In my previous reply to you I provided credentials so you could view the page/feature in question. If you are needing admin access, that can be provided also using your email.

    Hello @originally216,

I have checked your website. But I am really sorry. As you set up the TOC and the Accordion, It won’t work actually. I have already told you that TOC will only show the Heading Titles when it will get the same ID as Bookmarked otherwise it won’t work. Also, I can ensure you that it won’t open the Accordion if you click on the TOC link. I hope you understand.

    Thank you

@onlykawshar The TOC at the top is manually made, so the links are set to whatever I’d like them to be. The part that seems to not be working is adding/saving an ID to the Accordion Item using “Advanced > HTML ANCHOR” (which is usable on almost any block for Gutenberg). I hope this makes more sense to describe the issue.
