• Hello everyone,

This has been happening for a few months now and I am just overly annoyed by it now, so seeing if it is happening to anyone else and how to fix it.

I am adding links into articles for sources or linking to previous articles I have written. I have the anchor text highlighted and add the link. When I click “Add Link,” it will add the link to the text, but then it shifts it somewhere else in the paragraph. I notice this usually happens when I have something bolded or italicized in the paragraph also. It will move the anchor text right after that bolded or italicized word. Usually I just undo and redo the link again and it works the second time. Lately, it has been taking like 5 times to get it to work properly.

Anyone else experiencing this and if so, how would I stop this from happening?

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

That always seems to be the response when I see any issue on here. Just seems like a silly concept. I have used multiple WordPress sites and it does it on them all.

@tbetzold Most of the times its the plugin / theme, thus its best to test with the defaults – this is the first step to troubleshoot any issue.

It’s the response, @tbetzold, because it’s a sound methodology, albeit one that’s a pain in the butt.
