    Hello,

I’ve noticed that there is no sales tax data appearing in the Taxes analytics screen. The page does show the Total Tax and Order Tax, but no data in the table.

The old Woocommerce/Reports/Taxes DOES show the data:

Is anyone else having this issue? Any ideas to troubleshoot this?

  • Hello,

Could you add your tax class (US-CA-SALES Tax-1) here and check if data is showing properly: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-analytics/#taxes-report

In case anyone is interested it seems that if you remove/reimport a tax rate orders placed under that tax rate will not appear in the WC Analytics/Taxes chart.

    Hi,

Can you import historical date in Analytics > Settings, and check if taxes and chart show up?

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-analytics/#analytics-settings__import-historical-data

Can you also please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

I tried the import historical and that did not work.

I looked at the orders in question in the database and they indeed had the tax rate from the deleted rates. I modified the record in the database to use the current tax rate identifier and now the orders show in the chart as they should, but use the new tax rate name instead of the old one. The old identifyer name still appears in the legacy chart fyi.

So it appears that with the new Analytics if a Tax Rate line item is deleted/replaced from the WC tax rates in Settings the order record still shows the old tax rate identifyer but shows nothing in the admin chart.

The legacy reports maintains and displays the old, deleted tax rate name in the chart somehow.

This should be easy for you to reproduce.
    1. Create a standard tax rate with a unique name.
    2. Place an order using that tax rate
    3. Complete the order (mark as completed/shipped)
    4. Delete the standard tax rate
    5. Add the same tax rate back in but with a new name.

You should see that in the legacy reports the old tax rate shows in the report. In the new analytics it does not.

    Hi @trex556

Thank you for the update and detailed explanation. Could I get you to open up an issue about this on GitHub? That’s where the developers track issues like this; https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/new/choose
