Hi, I have been having trouble with my analytics. It will not pull through every order for some reason.

I accept payments in different currencies. Could this be why? As it only seems to be pulling through orders paid in GBP which is our main currency.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I have just made the switch from Shopify and I’m still getting used to things here on woocom.

    Hi @jackhcp ,

First of all, welcome to WooCommerce! We’re happy you made the switch! I understand that your analytics tool isn’t tracking orders from different currencies, is that right? Can I ask if you’re using a third-party analytics tool or if you’re referring to WooCommerce Analytics?

If it’s the latter, please note that WooCommerce Analytics primarily reports in the store’s base currency. It does not fully support tracking and reporting in multiple currencies out of the box. If you’re accepting multiple currencies, the analytics should convert and display those transactions in your store’s base currency (which in your case, is GBP). If you know a specific order was paid with a different currency, you can check by going to Analytics → Orders to see if it was converted to GBP.

Please let me know how it goes.

Hey, thanks for getting back to me!

No worries, I think it was just a bit of a surprise after making the change from shopify but it seems to be sorted now and I can keep track of all orders.

I do have another question which is slightly off topic but still to do with currencies…

Is it better to accept multiple currencies at the checkout or stick with my base currency (GBP) ?

I ship orders worldwide so I would like the customers to be able to view products in their own currency but I’m unsure if it’s better for me if they pay in their own currency too?

Some currency plug ins give the option to make them pay in gbp at the checkout so I just wasn’t sure if one was better than the other.

Maybe this might make doing accounts and stuff difficult if it’s all in different currencies?

Sorry if it that sounds like a stupid question, I’m still a newbie??

    Thanks for your time

    Jack

Regarding accepting multiple currencies at checkout, offering local currencies can certainly enhance customer experience and potentially increase sales. Customers often appreciate seeing prices in a currency they’re familiar with.

However, just in my honest opinion, accepting multiple currencies might introduce some complexity to your accounting process, as you’ll need to account for currency conversion and fluctuation. Using a payment gateway that converts to GBP at checkout could be a good middle ground, as it simplifies your finances but still provides that local feel for customers.

Sorry if it that sounds like a stupid question, I’m still a newbie
