An unexpected error occurred when search for plugin on wamp server/localhost

I have a fresh install of the latest wordpress on the latest 64-bit wamp server on my new computer (win 7 operating system). When searching for new plugins and themes it’s giving me the following error:

An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.remarpro.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.

I’m thinking this is probably because my wamp server/localhost is blocking the communication with www.remarpro.com? but I have no idea how to fix this – disabled all of my firewalls and nothing changed. Please help!
