• I have a new install of WordPress ver 3.9.1 on locally on a LAMP server configuration. Everything seems to be fine with it with the exception of a message I get when attempting to browse and install new themes: “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.remarpro.com or this server’s configuration.”

    I am not useing a proxie and am able to ping www.remarpro.com. The site URL in Settings -> Genneral is not blank.

    I have also tried to add comments such as:
    define( ‘WP_HTTP_BLOCK_EXTERNAL’, true );
    define( ‘WP_ACCESSIBLE_HOSTS’, ‘api.www.remarpro.com,*.github.com’ );
    to my wp-config.php file to no avail.

    Any help please?

    How often does this happen? Is it just themes that creates that problem? Does it happen when trying to browse plugins?

    It happens all the time when I am trying to browse and install themes. Every thing else seems fine. I was haveing an issue with installing plugins and the sysem asking for FTP cradentials. However I have fixed this by adding define(‘FS_METHOD’, ‘direct’); to the wp-config.php file.
