• I backup my website all the time, including when I add new features, fix bugs, and before I install and/or update plugins. This plugin makes backing up my website very straight forward. The free version allows you to save the backups in the WordPress admin area, to FTP, and you can download the backups to your local machine. The paid version allows for backups in additional locations.

The feature to encrypt the database backups is only available for the paid version, but if you have a good hosting service for the website, the vulnerability of your database backups will be practically none.

Total Upkeep a solid backup plugin, and I would certainly recommend it.
