I am having trouble with an update notification that won’t go away. It seems that many people are experiencing the same issue. It is very distracting and hindering product management, so I request that you distribute a fix version as soon as possible.

  • Hi,

I have the same problem with the message “An important update is required for WooCommerce” on all my sites. Clicing on “See available updates” and “Dismiss” does not help, the above message appeares again when I enter the “Orders” page. Probably version 8.9.3 should be fixed.

Thanks in advance for the prompt recovery.

    Hi,

I am experiencing the same problem. The same goes for our customers, who naturally become concerned about the notification – and at the same time, they mistakenly believe that their WooCommerce is not updated to the latest version (which it is).

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello ?? you all,

I can see @sebasweb shared a possible workaround. Could you please try it out and see if it helps solve the issue on your stores?

I’m unable to find a similar issue on my test sites with the latest version of WooCommerce.

I think WooCommerce done a quick update as there was a security vulnerability that could allow bad actors to inject malicious content in the browser of our visitors.

I would advise not to mess with cpanel and await a new update as WooCommerce as I’ve seen as long as we have version 8.9.3. we are secure and shouldn’t worry.

I’m awaiting new updates before I make any changes.

As someone has suggested just leave it until they resolve the problem as many have got it.

I managed to remove it myself but involved playing with the database in PHPADMIN find the wc_admin_notes table in the database, sort by ID, find the update message, set status to “actioned”

Unless you know what your doing just leave it!

    Hi,

The solution proposed by @sebasweb is not correct. It stops the message for the time being and forever. And what about messages in the future? They can be required but will not be available. It’s like cutting off the head for a headache.

The real update of the current version is required. I’m awaiting. Thank you in advance.

An update came out today, but the notification still hasn’t gone away ??

    Hi @wideroadby

Thanks for the warning and the example, although very cruel, very good.

I have deleted it and now that you mention it, well, I would like to reverse the action, do you know if with the next update I will have this record back in the database table?

    Thanks

    Hi @sebasweb

    Thank you for the question.

I do not know defenitly, you should consult a WooCommerce expert.

I can assume that if you restore all entries in phpMyAdmin, the messages will reappear.

    Regards

    Hey, everyone!

Thanks for reporting. We have a GitHub report open on it, and will work on it as quickly as possible ??
You can follow it there to get updates if you wish.

For now, the workaround is similar to what @sebasweb suggested, but instead of deleting it, you can change it from pending to actioned.
You can see more about it here.

I hope this was clarifying. Please let us know if you have any questions ??

    Have a wonderful day!

Thank you. Looking forward for the fixed version.

I’ve recently had the new updates, but my security message is still showing when accessing WooCommerce pages in my admin area.

Is everyone having the same issue as me as I don’t feel I’m capable enough to change the action, and its always better safe than sorry I believe.

(Update to recent comment) Updates have worked and using the dismiss message know works perfectly.
