An extra field is created at the end of every form!

    I use WPForms Lite and I find that an extra field is automatically and randomly added to the end of every form I create. Here is the trouble shooting I have done:

    (1) I have deactivated every plugin except for WPForms Lite and Elementor, but the problem still persists.

    (2) I temporarily switched from Generatepress to the Twenty Twenty-Five theme to make sure the issue is not theme related, but the issue still persists in Twenty Twenty-Five.

    The only thing I can think of is a bug in WPForms Lite. Can anyone help?

    I have tested further and it seems to me that Modern Markup is not active on my WPForms. WPForms forms work perfectly in the WordPress native editor, but not in Elementor. Additionally, there is no option to activate in my settings.

    Please mark this resolved. While doing further testing, I discover that some of my WPForms page were somehow corrupted. I have recreated them and it’s all good.

    Thanks for reaching out, and great to hear that you found the cause of the issue.

    Regarding Modern Markup, as noted in our guide here, with WPForms version 1.8.1 and later, the Modern Markup option is enabled by default, and the disable option isn’t visible in the WordPress dashboard. You can simply proceed to start customizing your forms in the block editor.

    If you’d like the Modern Markup option to be visible, you can use this code snippet. For help adding custom code, check out our tutorial with the most common methods. For a beginner-friendly option, I recommend the WPCode plugin.

    Please note that our Form Themes feature is only available in the block editor and isn’t supported in Elementor. I’ve made a note of this feature request, and we’ll keep it in mind as we plan future updates.

    However, if the Modern Markup option is enabled on your site, our WPForms widget on Elementor provides some style options.
