• After trying bbPress and just not getting on with it, I thought I’d give wpForo a try.

It works very well out of the box, customisation settings are plentiful and css is logical and easy to edit. If you need it, the support forums are busy with tips & tweaks, and even the free plugin users are able to view and post (a rare thing these days!)

It’s simple to swap between the 4 forum styles to decide on the best fit for your site, and then you can dive straight in.

There’s a huge amount of functionality offered for free, and the pro upgrades seem decent for the price, and a worthy investment for when your forum takes off.

    EDIT

The team recently pushed out a major update to 2.0 (Aug 2022). Hats off to them for providing excellent support and documentation, and things went with barely a hitch. It’s like having your own team of devs! ??
