I have consistently setup Jetpack on many sites in the past, but I’m receiving the error: “An error occurred. Please try again.” when trying to connect Jetpack to my user account. I have uninstalled and reinstalled in addition to deactivating all plugins. I have also successfully tested the XML-RPC server using https://troynewsonline.com/xmlrpc.php // What should my next steps be?

    Hi @tmiller5,

I see that both your WordPress and Jetpack installations are below the minimum versions supported by us.

Could you please update WordPress at least to version 6.3 and Jetpack to the latest version?

Once you have updated both WordPress and Jetpack, we can start troubleshooting the connection issue you’re reporting.

    Look forward to your updates.

    Thank you.

I am showing my WordPress Version to be 6.4.3 and Jetpack at Version 13.2.2.

Do I need higher versions? An ability to update beyond is not being presented.

Adding to this, I previously used another email address as well as web host provider and later switched to a new host, wondering if maybe my account is still tied to my old account. Any way of completely unsyncing my website from JetPack, allowing me to treat it as a new installation?

I reached out to my Host Provider (iPage) and they determined I didn’t have ctype.so extensions enabled in my PHP.ini file. Agent corrected this and JetPack Plugin is connecting as intended. Issue resolved.

    Hi @tmiller5,

Kudos for resolving that with your hosting provider! I can confirm that Jetpack is connected now, although there’s a slight issue related to timeouts we get from your server, having your hosting provider whitelist our IP ranges would definitely help:
