This site is working fine before we migrated it from cPanel to Directadmin. After this we are unable to upload any media as its showing error

An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.

I’ve search google for help, but all what i’m seeing isn’t able to solve the problem,
Also i notice the site is loading slow, even i’ve disabled all the plugins and the theme.
I’ve also replaced wp-admin and wp-includes folder with fresh one, but this doesn’t solve the problem.
I really need urgent help on this.

    Thanks

    – Check that anti-hotlinking of images isn’t enabled in your hosting account. If it is, try disabling it.
    – confirm that the wp-content/uploads directory and those files exist.
    – Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767, 775 or 777.
Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again (very important for security reasons!) and check that everything still works OK
    – If the above steps do not help, try deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to narrow down the problem. If the problem goes away, activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin. If still no go, try switching to the default theme for a moment.

If none of the above steps helped, then try discussing the issue with your hosting provider.

Did you check whether DirectAdmin changed the upload_max_filesize and/or post_max_size settings in php.ini?

    Thread Starter Garaji

    (@abollyhost)

@diondesigns we have increased the size to 64mb, and still not solve the problem sir

Even I’very tried to export the site content but still failed.

Is PHP running under the same user in DirectAdmin as it was in cPanel? cPanel uses lsphp which allows PHP to run as the user that owns the web-facing filesystem. From what I remember, DirectAdmin ran PHP as either the “nobody” or “www-data” user, which is an old and near-obsolete way of running PHP, and it would definitely cause the problem you’re experiencing.

@diondesigns what could be a solution to it sir

    Dion

    (@diondesigns)

If that is your problem, the solution is configuring PHP with a FastCGI handler such as mod_fcgid or (preferably) PHP-FPM. If you don’t know how to do that, then you should contact DirectAdmin support:

@diondesigns thanks, I will try that now

Still unable to solve this problem, but we have installed a fresh wordpress on a subfolder and import the site contents through feed. Thanks everything is working fine now.
