I am experiencing confusion since the “An automated WordPress update has failed to complete” notification appears on top of my dashboard but at the same time I also see “You have the latest version of WordPress.“.

Simultaneously, although plugins are usually updated regularly, for the last week none of the plugins can be updated but the message “Update failed” appears for all of them (meanwhile the same plugins can be updated fine on other of my websites). Nor can the theme be updated (Astra), the message is the same “Update failed”

Please would you indicate which steps I should follow?

    Thanks

Do you have the plugin Astra Starter Templates installed? If so, it’s blocking updates. Deactivate it, then update it. That will fix the update issues. You can then re-activate it and update your other plugins normally.

    Thank you @sterndata Steven!

This resolved the issue indeed. Very grateful.
