• This isn’t really much of a hack and it definitely isn’t a plugin. I modified the Dashboard page so that it is more to my liking.

I went for a stripped down presentation of the information that I wanted to see the most:

    • a div box with a bulleted list of drafts
    • another div box with the Latest Activity information that was previously releagted to the side bar
    • a final div box that list the blog stats

Clean and simple, with a logical division of information. For anybody that would like to try it for themselves, the file to modify is /wp-admin/index.php. I have made a .txt copy available here:
    https://www.bturnip.com/weblog/admin_index.php.txt

Back up your own copy of /wp-admin/index.php, drop in my admin_index.php.txt, rename it to index.php and you should be ready to go.

Nothing fancy here, just some code re-arrangement. Comments and suggestion welcome.

    Pictures say a 1000 words:
    WP post w/ screenshot

Meh, nice, but too space wasting for me, the whole right side of the screen is blank. Just my personal opinion.

I figured it might not be for everybody- I deliberately stripped things down. I asked myself what I really wanted to see, then cut everything else out. The only thing right now that I might change would be to put the blog stats in the sidebar where the Latest Activity section used to be.

Hey, This is great… If you have the Tiger Style Admin plugin, it looks pretty even. Its a bit simplistic, and slim, but I’m into that, no need for the extra bits there, eh?

It would be slightly less scary for people, if you could make it a plugin though.
