In Site Health screen I get two critical issues:

An active PHP session was detected
The REST API encountered an error

By disabling plugins, I connected that message to your plugin. Is there a fix for it that I can apply to eliminate the errors?

    Thank you,

    Cemal

We’re working on that as we speak. Will be fixed in the next release.

Good to know, thank you. Also, after I reactivated the plugin the reCaptca icon does not show on the pages as it used to. The keys are intact. Did I do something wrong by disabling it?

    Hi,

I assume you are using reCaptcha v3. What pages is it not showing on? Before it was getting needlesly loaded on all pages, but now it should load only where needed (login pages, woocommerce checkout/login etc.)

This is a very small site with a half dozen or so pages. There is a comment form at the end of five out of eight pages. If you visit the site you will see that it is not there. Yes, I am using v3.

Thank you, the critical issues do not show anymore. But I am not sure if it is actively working or not as I do not see any sign of ReCAPTCHA icon. I wish there was a way to test whether it works or not.

    Hi,

We have released an update that should fix some small issues with the captcha. Please update and let us know if the reCAPTCHA badge is still not showing.

I see Version 1.12 but I still do not see any Captcha icon on any of the pages. If you visit the site I provided in the original post, you will observe the missing icon. I am more concerned with whether it is functioning or not rather than seeing the icon. If you provide me with a method of secure communications, I will create an Admin user for you to look behind the scenes.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

It’s just cache. I missed this last time, might have been cache all along ??

If you open https://www.safranbolutimetravel.com/the-town-of-safranbolu/?nocache=rand123123213 for example you will see the captcha badge.

Please clear any cache plugin/service you have active on your website.

I cleared the cache before I checked. Now, I cleared the cache and disabled the caching plugin. I tried in two browsers and still do not see the icon. When I am logged in, I do not see cached pages anyway, but I disabled it altogether if you want to check it once more.

I visited the link you provided, but no icon there either. On a browser I rarely use, I cleared all time cache and other stuff and loaded the pages. I still cannot see the logo.

Currently, no caching plugins are active and all the cache on the site has been cleared. This is becoming a puzzle! Thank you for looking into it, I appreciate it.

Aha! It is slowly coming back! But I cannot still see it on the Contact page although it is showing on other gallery pages.

Now it’s showing for me even without the ?nocache parameter. See screenshot https://prnt.sc/RrHqj5PVY276

Have you scrolled down to the comment form? The header seems to have a high z-index and is showing on top of the reCAPTCHA badge.

On the contact form, it will not be displayed as we do not support protecting 3rd party contact forms. The plugin you use to generate that contact form should handle it’s captcha.

Even if we were to add the reCAPTCHA badge and insert the verification token in the form, it wouldn’t actually have any effect if the plugin that receives the form data knows to check that token and validate it. That is why it needs to be handled by the form plugin.

Before this update, the reCAPTCHA badge was loaded and displayed on all website pages in some cases, even if it was not actually protecting anything so that is why you might have seen it on the Contact page but it was not actually protecting the form ??

When I am logged in, I do not see the Captcha icon. But when I log out, using the same browser I can see it. Not on the Contact page.

In general, do you recommend not using caching plugins with Google ReCAPTCHA?

I just saw your latest reply that explains why I used to see it on all the pages before and why I will not see it on the Contact page because it is a Jetpack form. I have a better understanding of what it going on now. I guess the icon is suppressed when I am logged in because I am a known entity. I will see what I can do for the contact page if it becomes a problem with spam comments.

    Thanks again.
