I have two “critical issues” in my dashboard that I don’t know how to fix:

An active PHP session was detected (A PHP session was created by a session_start() function call. This interferes with REST API and loopback requests. The session should be closed by session_write_close() before making any HTTP requests.)

    and

The REST API encountered an error (The REST API is one way WordPress, and other applications, communicate with the server. One example is the block editor screen, which relies on this to display, and save, your posts and pages.

The REST API request failed due to an error.
Error: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received (http_request_failed))

Can you tell me how to fix these?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there,

In most cases, the real reason for the “An active PHP session was detected” error is the incorrect mechanism for using PHP sessions within plugins or themes when they are using the session_start() function.

This is not happening on my site using Virtue theme and seems isolated to your site. You need to identify what plugin causes this issue by deactivating your plugins one by one.

To resolve cURL error 28, you may follow this guide

Let us know how it goes.

    Kind regards,
    Chito
