AMP Validation Error

    I received an error from submitting my Web Story into Google saying that “Required Edits: Resolve AMP Validation Errors Your story contains invalid AMP. Please adjust your story to resolve any AMP validation errors. This may be caused by old plugins or metadata.”

    I do not see any errors on my actual site. Are you able to help me with this? Thank you!

  • Hi @abartley thanks for reaching out. Looking at one of your Web Stories I can see that there are multiple instances of AMP errors. You can see these here: https://search.google.com/test/amp/result?id=VzfO-HYrjqMiAeJFS7Bi_Q.

    The validation errors are due to The mandatory attribute ‘poster’ missing in tag ‘amp-video’. This means that the videos on the story do not have poster images which are required.

    Could you please go into this particular story and remove the videos completely from the story and re-add them. Once done save/publish the story once more and run the story url through AMP validation. Let me know if that clears the errors. if so you will need to do this for any stories with these errors.
