    Hi,

CM Tooltip Glossary is a great plugin and, to be honest, the best one in that class.

However, there is one problem: it doesn’t work on AMP pages. But Google AMP technology, designed to speed up the mobile web, is very and very popular. Moreover, the speed of the site is one of the key factors in its ranking.

Question: when do you plan to implement AMP support?

    Thank you for the answer.

  • Yeah, I have the same question. My whole site is AMP except the glossary.

    Hi,

We’re constantly investigating the technical possibilities of implementing AMP for Tooltip Glossary. The biggest issue is that tooltips functionality, with all of the options rely heavily on the custom JavaScript – which AMP pages don’t accept. This means we have to find other, non-JS ways to display tooltips. This takes a lot of research time as we’d like to support as many of the plugins features in the AMP mode as possible (although probably it won’t be possible to support all of them). Alternatively we’re considering adding support to glossary page and glossary index only (as this is way simpler) and adding the tooltip support later, but this is last resort.

Once we figure out the way to support tooltips we will be able to start the development and testing phase. We expect that it can take somewhere from a couple of weeks to few months.

OK, but what about official AMP supporting JavaScript https://amp.dev/documentation/guides-and-tutorials/develop/custom-javascript/ and probably CSS methods?

This request conflicts with nature of AMP. I think researching on how to entegrate tooltips in AMP is an useless effort.

Just an update as we are working to release a new version with AMP support. We hope by April 2020
