  • Hi @cort002,

    Thanks for getting in contact with us, I have checked your website, and It looks like you’re using an alternative AMP plugin. You will need to use only one AMP plugin, because using both, it will cause incompatibility issues.

    If you would like to use the official AMP plugin, be aware once you disable the alternative AMP plugin, your AMP page Layout will change, but you can go through the Wizard and select the layout that fits you.

    If you are happy with that, re-run the site scan and even after that you’re still getting validation issues, please send us the UUID, at the support panel, and we will help you to solve the validation issues.

    I deleted the other plugin. I activated the official AMP plugin once again. It still will not scan. Please assist Thank you.

    Also, as stated previously, it is disabling my shortcode amazon affiliate links. Thanks.

    Hi @cort002,

    The alternative AMP plugin still affecting some pages, make sure when you uninstall remove all data at AMP > Setting > Advanced settings > Delete Data on Uninstallation. (screenshot)

    After that, you are using any cache plugin purge the cache and run the site scan again.

    About Amazon affiliate links you can add the link as a normal link or image add the code in a custom HTML block, as the image below:

    I updated the advanced settings as suggested, cleared cache. Still unable to scan site.

    About amazon, are you saying that I need to go in and redo every one of my links in past posts?

    Hi @cort002,

    The site scan is returning invalid plugins or an error message, if it is an error message could you share it?

    The Amazon shortcode was generated by a plugin? If yes, could you share each plugin you are using?

    I’m not using a plugin for Amazon shortcodes. I’m using Gutenberg blocks.

    My site will not scan. It says failed to scan.

    Please assist. I tried to start a new thread to get help and it was closed. I was redirected back here. Just need help getting my site working. I’m going to disable the plugin in the meantime.

    Hi @cort002,

    Gutenberg’s blocks do not have out of the box support for Amazon affiliate links shortcode, I have checked non-AMP version and the affiliate link is included using JavaScript code:

    <p><script type="text/javascript">
    amzn_assoc_tracking_id = "cort002-20";
    amzn_assoc_ad_mode = "manual";
    amzn_assoc_ad_type = "smart";
    amzn_assoc_marketplace = "amazon";
    amzn_assoc_region = "US";
    amzn_assoc_design = "enhanced_links";
    amzn_assoc_asins = "B00SL2NP0G";
    amzn_assoc_placement = "adunit";
    amzn_assoc_linkid = "6983c560d03eefde1cd3d8f06e780134";
    </script><br />
    <script src="//z-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/onejs?MarketPlace=US"></script></p>

    AMP does not allow custom JavaScript calls in this way, iframe we can use third party JavaScript as I shared before or the anchor tag pointing to an affiliated URL also you won’t have problem.

    Could you please share the shortcode that you are using? Because if we can find the plugin that is creating the shortcode, We could replace the generated code by the shortcode to an AMP valid format without need to replace all posts content.

    I don’t know what you mean by iframe. I’m not using a plugin.

    I have a screenshot of what I use. It is shortcode widget in Gutenberg block editor.

    But also site scan still doesn’t work. I can’t seem to get the plugin to work adequately.

    Hi @cort002,

    Gutenberg doesn’t have native support for Amazon affiliate links or shortcodes, in this case, some plugin or external script are including the products on your non-AMP version.

    If you could share the code or a screenshot that you are using and I can try to a alternative that you do not need to redo the content from your post. Because on the first replay, I shared the code from Amazon affiliate program that works normally with AMP.

    About site scan, it will checked if your plugins are compatible or not but this is not a requirement for the plugin deliver a AMP valid page. If the site scan is not working at all could you share a screenshot and I can do some investigation over it.

    As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you require any further assistance.
