Hi, I have over a thousand pages that are showing with an amp error in google console. The error is ‘there are scripts on the page showing different versions’. When I try the validator, it says they’re not amp pages.

    What is going wrong?

    thanks

I just noticed that you have the Squirrly SEO plugin installed, there is a known issue with the Squirrely SEO plugin injecting extra analytics script, which I reported on thier support forum

The workaround for the same can be found in this topic comment

for now, I would like to suggest deactivating Analytics from Squirrly SEO and use Analytics configurations from the AMP plugin.

To Deactivate the Analytics from Squirrly
    1) Goto -> SEO settings from Top Options -> Tracking Tools -> Toggle Tracker off
    (screenshot)

    2) Goto AMP plugin Settings -> Analytics -> click + button
    i) add type as “googleanalytics” in input field
ii) it will populate code add your UA-XX-XXXX code.

You can find more details in this article

Let me know if this helps!

Thank you, that’s very helpful. Yes, I had disabled AMP temporarily to do some other testing.

Now, I followed your steps, but it still showed errors when validating, but at least it’s a different error, so I think I’m making progress.

I also noticed the suggestion to install Site Kit, which I did as well. Squirrly analytics has been disabled.

Could you have another look for me please?

    very grateful,

    Hello @tongzie

yes, Google Site Kit is recommended as it adds all necessary Google Services like Analytics, Search Console, AdSense and those will work on AMP and non-AMP without any issues

Can you please confirm that you have disabled Squirrly SEO’s Analytics,
I am still seeing the analytics script being injected by Squirrly SEO (screenshot)
if you have disabled Squirrely SEO’s Analytics, I will recommend clearing your site cache so your changes will be reflected.

Removing it should make your AMP page Valid (screenshot), you can test AMP page validation using AMP Validator

Validation is now working. I dumped Squirrly and went back to RankMath.

Thanks for your help – excellent support!
