  • @maisonwale Thanks for getting in touch! Errors like these often occur when another plugin is conflicting with Web Stories and keeping some critical scripts from loading correctly. To help us identify the issue, can you please share your Site Health information privately via this form? Thank you!

@shetheliving Thank you for your response, I have completed the form with a link to one of the stories. I have the same problem with 3 other stories. Would I need to complete this process for all 4 links?

    Look forward to your assistance.

    Thank you

Thank you! No need to resubmit for each story.

I see that your site is using two different optimization plugins, Swift Performance Lite and LiteSpeed Cache. It would be helpful for me to know what settings you have turned on and off in those plugins. Can you please export your settings for these plugins, upload the resulting files, and share them in a Google Drive link?

    For Swift Performance Lite:

    1. Go to Tools > Swift Performance > Settings
    2. In the left sidebar, select Export/Import
    3. Click Export and click the Download button

    For LiteSpeed Cache:

    1. Go to LiteSpeed Cache > Toolbox
    2. Click [2] Import / Export
    3. Select Export

    @shetheliving Thank you

Here is a google drive link with both exports.

Please let me know if this works or let me know the best way to copy the exports correctly.

    Thanks so much

@maisonwale The file paths on this document look like local files on your machine and are inaccessible.

Would you be able to upload those 2 particular files to Google Drive and share the link for each file itself?

@adamdunnage Thanks Adam, I have added both files to this folder, please let me know if this works.

Thank you, @maisonwale! The LiteSpeed file worked (it said the other was corrupted) but unfortunately I still haven’t been able to replicate the errors that you’re seeing. Since it’s likely that these are related to a plugin conflict, I’d like to try turning off your site’s plugins one by one and seeing if that helps us identify which one is causing the problem:

    1. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin
    2. In WordPress admin, go to Plugins and click Troubleshoot to enable Troubleshooting Mode. This mode disables active plugins and switches to a default theme safely; this will not affect what your site visitors see, as it only changes the look and feel of your website for logged-in administrators.
    3. On the Troubleshooting Mode page, under Web Stories, click Enable while troubleshooting
    4. Visit the URL of one of the stories that you have been having issues with
    5. If the issue does not occur while in Troubleshooting Mode, re-enable your site’s plugins one-by-one by clicking Enable while Troubleshooting for each and checking the story again. This can help us pinpoint if a particular plugin or theme is causing the issue.

Please let me know what you find either way and we’ll go from there. Thanks!

    Thank you @shetheliving
When I turn on troubleshooting mode, I no longer see the web stories tab on the left side of the page so I am unable to click “Enable while troubleshooting” on the Web Stories. I had to delete the default themes that are not in use because i know that can also lead to conflict. Do I need to reinstall a default theme?

@maisonwale The “Enable while troubleshooting” option will be on the Troubleshooting screen itself – check out this screenshot. Once you select that option, you’ll be taken back to the main plugins screen, where you can turn your other plugins on one by one and do the testing I noted above – see this screenshot. Let me know if you have any other questions on this!

Having other themes installed but not activated shouldn’t cause any issues; your active theme and plugins are often the issue there.

Thank you @shetheliving I’ve tried everything you recommended.
I was able to “Enable while troubleshooting” however I have 20 available plugins, I tried to turn them on one by one but I’m not sure if this is working as I’m still having the same issue

Anything else you could recommend to fix this? Thank you so much

@maisonwale Thanks for giving that a try and for sticking with me through all of these steps!

I tried to turn them on one by one but I’m not sure if this is working as I’m still having the same issue

To clarify, does this mean that you had the same issue with your stories when you had only Web Stories enabled in troubleshooting mode, i.e. with no plugins activated?

Can you please tell me who your hosting provider is and what plan you are on with them?

    Thread Starter maisonwADMIN

    (@maisonwale)

@shetheliving to the best of my knowledge that is correct, except I’m doing something wrong. My website is hosted on NameCheap and I am on the Stellar plan.

@maisonwale Thank you for the information. Would you be able to try the troubleshooting mode again and this time disable all plugins apart from your Web Stories and also switch to a default theme.

You can switch themes by selecting Available themes in the Troubleshooting Mode panel and clicking Switch to this theme next to one of the WordPress default themes named after a year (Twenty Twenty, Twenty Twenty One, etc.).

Once you have all plugins disabled apart from Web Stories and your default theme set can you check your Web Stories once more to see if you are getting the same issues.

As we haven’t received a response, I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist. Thank you!
