    Hi,
Lately, I have been experiencing a high load time in amp pages compared to non-amp pages.

I took 3 tests on GT Metrix and it is as follows:
    LT – Load time(seconds), S-Size, R-Requests
    1st Test
    Non-AMP: LT=2.9, S=641KB, R=47
    AMP: LT=3.2, S=579KB, R=35

    2nd Test
    Non-AMP: LT=1.7, S=583KB, R=41
    AMP: LT=2.3, S=579KB, R=35

    3rd Test
    Non-AMP: LT=2.1, S=640KB, R=46
    AMP: LT=2.3, S=579KB, R=35

I tested on Google Page Insights and on webpagetest.org, and there too the load time for non-amp was better than amp.

Why is this happening? Because, as noted the size is small and requests are also less in amp and plus amp uses CDN.
Then why am I experiencing a high load time for amp?

this is the page I did a test on

We checked your issue. There’s extra javascript loading as per the Pagespeed insight, but that loading is from the AD.
    Like this: https://take.ms/x6bk4
The AD has a new Google AMP4Ads format, and that is causing this,

Can you please turn off the ad for 1- 2 hours and you will see improvements in results?

Hi, I tried using another ad code but the results are the same.

I an using “ads for wp” plugin to generate ads for both amp and non-amp.

I just now created another post, and the result is
My non-amp is much faster than amp.
Non-amp loads in 1.8sec while amp in 3.2sec Location selected: Mumbai

What is the issue? I even added dns-prefetch and used webp format, but the results are still the same. Non-amp is better than amp.

I also tried some methods described in this https://blog.amp.dev/2018/10/08/how-to-make-amp-even-faster/

But still, the result is the same.

Is it time for me to stop using amp?

Please help me with this, as it concerns SEO rankings.

    Thank You.
