Just updated out Web Story plugin and now, all of our web stories are throwing amp errors stating that “Tag ‘amp-story-bookend’, if present, must be the last child of tag ‘amp-story’.”

The tag is in the middle of the amp-story before the amp-analytics tag.

This request has been duplicated by Robby Payne. Same site, same issue.

    Hi there,

Are you perhaps using Ezoic to print some analytics for your AMP pages? It looks like it’s printing its analytics code in the wrong place, causing this error.

Yes, we actually discovered that it was Ezoic’s analytics code after I posted this. They are looking into it as we do not inject the tag on our end. It wasn’t doing this prior to the plugin update but hopefully, Ezoic can get it moved.

Excellent, that’s great to know, other users have reported similar validation errors since. Out of curiosity did you manually insert your ezoic header code snippets as opposed to using the ezoic plugin?

No, Ezoic inserts their own analytics tags on their end. We’ve never had to add the tags on our end so we can’t manually remove them. It is served on the DNS lever. :/

@nephilim777 We’ve heard back from Ezoic now, and they’re reported that the issue should now be fixed on their side, although they mention via the plugin. Can you try and create a new story and check whether you encounter the same issue?

I can confirm that after clearing the cache on the stories that were throwing errors that they are passing the validator. We will create a new web story to ensure that it is working for new posts as well.

Excellent, great to hear it. Let us know once you confirm the issue no longer occurs on a new post.
