Amount of categories incorrect (optioncount etc)

  • I’m a bit puzzled about this:
    When viewing my categories in the wordpress admin I have 276 posts that belong to the default category. On my site it says I have 268 posts in that category (optioncount=1), and using the plugin ‘pluginsused’ also says I have 276 posts in that category.

    Does ‘optioncount’ calculate the number of categories differently?

    I’m using 2.0.1.
