For some years now I’ve used a combination of AAM and WP Temporary Logins, for giving third parties access to the site (via a URL), and restricting what they can access.

Recently (presumably after an update of AAM), the temporary logins (when assigned to a User Role that AAM is setting policies for), the user ends up being redirected to the homepage.

I wasn’t sure if this was an AAM issue or WP Temporary Login issue.

Today I discovered on a site I manage, that users in another custom Role (i.e. “Marketing”) which AAM sets policies for, are also unable to login. They login and get immediately redirected to the homepage. They are not able to access wp-admin.

The setup they have been on has been fine for many months. It’s only in past week or so (after updates) that they are telling me they can’t access wp-admin.

It seems to be something in AAM causing this, and something that has come about through an update as opposed to through me making changes in AAM (as I’ve not changed anything in AAM on that site with the “Marketing” role in ever since I set that up months ago).

How would I go about determining what needs adjusting in AAM to resolve this?
