    Hi

Firstly, thanks for a great plugin.

Just a quick question. Is there any plan to add an amend facility, as currently if I re-post a job with the same Job Ref, I get a “500 Internal Server Error” with the message “Error: Oops, this job was not added, as a job with this jobs job reference already exists.” rather than amending the job post.

    Hi there,

Thanks for using the plugin. There is no “edit” functionality included, mainly because Broadbean don’t natively support edit only add and delete.

The error you mention appears to prevent 2 jobs having the same reference in the system. As the reference, references a job not a set of jobs this is important.

If you do want to “amend” or “edit” an existing job listing, you could delete the job from WordPress by sending the delete command from Broadbean. Then we you add it again with your amends, it would be added again to WordPress.

Worth checking with Broadbean what happens to applicants who may have applied to the original job as the tracking email for applicant tracking may change (or not, they would be best to advise on that one).

Many thanks for getting back to me Mark.

On a previous integration I had a basic script to enter the posts sent from Broadbean. When the ‘add’ command was received, I had it check if the application email (I think you use the job ref) already existed for a job and if it did, it updated that post rather than adding a new one.

No problem though, I’ll do as you suggest and get Broadbean to delete the post first.

    Once again, thanks.
