Amazon’s Site Stripe affiliate links not working with multiple themes

  • This now seems like a 5.3.2 update problem.

    Amazon Affiliate’s “Site Stripe” (how you make Amazon links) appears to not be working.

    In Site Stripe, you receive code which creates an image block on the front end.

    Since the update, when you paste into a paragraph block, nothing happens. The only way to workaround it is a shortcode block, which removes any styling capabilities, so the block is left-justified.

    I’ve seen this mentioned in other forums, but nobody knew the problem. Everyone else had updated to 5.3.2.

    Let’s get this fixed so we can make new amazon links! I can’t even edit old ones right now, the blocks appear to be completely broken on the back end. Thankfully they still seem to work on the front end.

  • You should ask in the plugin support forum for the plugin you are using for that.

    Actually, no plugin required, it’s just code you paste into the page. It works beautifully — when it works, which was before the 5.3.2 update.

    Super clean and easy. Here’s what the code looks like (if you want to inspect it) — I randomized the ID info with gibberish:

    UPDATE: I’ve successfully tested themes and plugins. The problem remains with all plugins deactivated and on every theme I tried (Twenty Twenty is my current theme), so it seems to be an issue with 5.3.2.
