• I think I might be misunderstanding how Auto Post Scheduler works.

I have my “Auto Post Schedule” set to 1 hour, and “Start Scheduling Delay” set to 3 hours.

I was under the impression that if I posted something manually, through another plugin, or through any other channel, Auto Post Scheduler would reset to the “restart on publish” interval once, and then resume publishing on the “auto post schedule” interval.

In other words, as long as I’m only posting through Auto Post Scheduler, posts go out every hour, but if I post something manually, the next Auto Post Scheduler post goes out 3 hours later.

Instead, it seems to just keep using the “auto post schedule” interval until I disable the plug-in and reenable it.

I’d like it if Auto Post Scheduler worked the way I thought it did, rather than the way it (apparently) does. Please clarify? Have I discovered a bug, or does APS work the way it should. If it’s working right, then consider this a feature request.

    Thanks!

You should have it right – restarting the scheduler does not include the initial delay. In your case the next post should be roughly 1 hour later, depending on your traffic triggering WP-Cron (if you don’t get a visitor until 3 hours later, that’s when WP-Cron will run).

When you manually publish a post, does the log show “Post published outside of APS – Auto Post Scheduler restarted” ?

Yes, it does show “Post published outside of APS – Auto Post Scheduler restarted” ?

On second thought, I withdraw my feature request. I like the behavior just the way it is. If I publish many posts manually close to each other, I can just disable and re-enable APS manually to give my subscribers a breather.

Thanks for clearing up my confusion and for making a great plug-in!
